TIME
Time is wasted waiting for leaders
Time is greased by time begging
Time as wakes, time as retainers
Time strangles you killing ambition
-Get out your panic 4x’s ….time is never static
Time is bitter
clocks every bad memory
Time dulls an old love
fades the best of your dreams
Time shrouds you
like lifelong rolling seas
Time creates cracks
till it bursts all the seams
Time is never static

I'm Not Crying
03:36
|
|||
I’M NOT CRYING…
Sing as we walk away into the dusk
Shiver as you flap your arms about
Shake off that rot and soul rust
Hope the revenge doesn’t burn…too much
Two intro again…then this chorus:
We’re not dressed for the weather I’m not crying.
Wearing a hat in a hurricane Im not crying.
An umbrella in a fire storm I’m not crying
Spitting into a tornado… I’m not crying IT’S…..My eyes are bleeding
Slope and sulk outta the downs.
Or Rise up outta visceral will
Shake off the wigs, the masks, the uniforms…
Shaking off that death chill …..
I wish I …..believed in heaven. 2xs
To have that last chance……
.. to talk again…
You never know the last goodbye
Your shadow just passed my eyes
Your name mumbled off my lips
Too many shadows, too many goodbyes…

Rachel Grimmer
03:06
|
|||
RACHEL GRIMMER
Rachel Grimmer begged the state for food stamps
Every dime denied so she begged at restaurants
Rachel Grimmer was said to speak well with everyone
Despite no pride and no light under the Texas Sun
There’s a woman with a gun at Laredo Welfare
No thanksgiving, the cupboards are all bare….
The daughter Ramie is too tired to cry
Here comes teargas this may be the day I die
1)Rachel Grimmer took her kids up to the sky
There’s food in Heaven so we must die
The RV was ransacked in the trailer park
Like she was looking for something she could never ever find
Every drawer and every closet ripped apart
With a box of shells on the kitchen table
Sometimes the believers act the most betrayed
The believers do the worst when they go under
Sometimes the believers fall into a far away daze
Where every notice is like a clap of thunder
2) Rachel Grimmer made one last visit to the state---With three shots she made one last complaint…

In a SRO
02:31
|
|||
IN A SRO
In a single room on sixth street
With a $50 card and hot plate
Visitors come late at night
I can show you the traffic in my bites —
In a single room on turk street
With a spoon and tab of vitamin C
All the nightmares go away
And I forget all that I could be
We are the villains and victims
the rabble kept out of sight
We are the debris, the dunnage
the rabble kept out of mind
In a single room on the fifth floor
I wrap my daughter in rags and tears
I lie to her and give her dreams
And I pray she makes her eighteenth year

Not Dangerous……
Can’t Stand straight, drunk without grace
Can’t talk politics anymore,
Where’s my guitar?---my name’s on the case
help me out the bar door….
2X CHORUS…that cab won’t pick me off the floor, -----
…and I ain’t dangerous anymore.
yelling I got a hundred bucks
I wanna blow it running skunk
don’t give one second of sense,
I buy, we hollar, you bitter old punks
…..politician poisoned my drunk
… we ain’t dangerous anymore
Take the 12 to broadway
Exit 5 blocks to specs
Drunk down Kerouac alley
Keep lookout, while I piss on respect
——catch me a bus, before I laugh myself dead
….catch me a bus……before I laugh myself dead..
Be on time, bus leaves at 12 o nine
The sun sets at 6: 45
It’s like the mission is outta time
And some of us, at the end of our dives
----pick me off the floor if I’m still alive
… and laughing, we ain’t dangerous anymore…

Twenty Scarecrows
03:04
|
|||
TWENTY SCARECROWS…
I made twenty scarecrows of twenty presidents
twenty pyres of straw and counted the dead
I poured a gallon of gasoline, and lit a cigarette
burn all your stupid wishes ……and empire schemes
I made a little bomb in a newspaper
I made bands that went off in a whimper
I worked my back and knees to breaking
Under the weight of apathy I was trying to be breathing
If we can’t put it back together, we should tear it apart……. turn the world upside down ….2 x’s
such a drag, slouching down the street
work day so bad, walking with lead feet
You’ve all been had, the capture complete
Don’t laugh at the crash, it’s all defeat
I had a vision rosa emma, leading transition
Out into that rolling human wind
I saw rosa emma and lucy and my ambition
Up on the hill, for the kill! gotta get vision,

Essential Workers

|
|||
ESSENTIAL WORKERS…
This is my fist, this is my back , this is my walk, this is my street, this is my home, this is my city….
This is my flat, this is my bus, this is my bar, this is my circle, these are my comrades this is my job
essential workers…Disposable workers
This is my sister, this is my brother, on this street, and this is me building a guillotine.
|
||||
8. |
||||
A thousand miles….
He can hear his fathers spackle-ed bootsMarching down the flat’s floor
times you cowered in fear hear his voice loud and clear
The father will leave cold, dressed in a suit
The father molds the son in his image
And all the arguments never finish
Some of us played for the team
Some of us cowered in fear
Some of us ran
A thousand a thousand a thousand….Son can’t ever shake it turn away his ghost
You’re such a failure never love in that voice
…………the father will leave cold pressed in a suit
sons follow a drunken boast ….Imitate their father’s voice

Line at the Pharmacy
02:01
|
|||
LINE AT THE PHARMACY. Everything is flat and empty here. With a line at the pharmacy
People here twitch and struggle with a tug at their leash…
Your suffering has to be numbed numbed to harmony
Humble down like a dog for eternal peace
THERE’S A LINE AT THE PHARMACY…. ….what a web they weave,
THERE’S A LINE AT THE PHARMACY. …..that’s how workers get relief.
Check your bags, check the seat of your pants,
And what’s in the palm of your calloused hands
Gotta get grey and quiet shut out the masses chants
Then the bastards turn up the military marching bands….
Dull the twitch of your gut heart beats..but trembling
Gray out ,eyes lowered all the anxiety
Drug out the despair.. all that despondency
Turn to mute any, any, lonely questioning….
Chorus 3
THERE’S A LINE AT THE PHARMACY….Another workers’ diary.
THERE’S A LINE AT THE PHARMACY……..Another sullen emergency.

She Goes Ghost
01:58
|
|||
She Goes Ghost.….OR a hunger I can’t comprehend, or a trauma I don’t understand…
Kelly had no resume, Kelly had a lot of problems
with ugly scabs, a cough you could hear a block away.
The sister yelled to help couldn’t yell loud enough
Kelly hung up on the broke side of nowherestan
Kelly use to ride horses….
She use to eat ice cream
Living really beat her up
Living made her soul scream
kelly…..is somewhere…..on 24th street….
kids become skinny ghosts of little girls …
.begging for change and one day’s escape
against nasty little boys that become monsters of hate.
Kelly wrote poetry
SHE use to eat ice cream
Her planet shook her to hell
And she slipped away through an Abyss (THIS I don’t know, a hunger you can’t comprehend…a hunger that never ends…)
Kelly………is somewhere now on treat and 20th Street
Screaming and begging among the tents
In rags, and calling to the sky
Doing anything…..for another fix… then I saw her on Capp street…. her skin grey…turning to dust..
Chorus 3rd
Kelly wrote poetryShe use to eat ice screamHer planet shook her to hell

Sunday so blue
02:07
|
|||
SUNDAY BLUE… Such are the pistons under steam
The atomized masses
These are the cogs in every machine
Serfs of the market’s madness
machinist, to seamstress
From forge to kitchen to mine
From bus, truck to train
To the bomb bays of your planes
Monday don’t ask for more
Tuesday just need a break.
Wednesday banging the door.
Friday night drinks to our fate.
Days to wish of holidays
The tenant, the waiter, the client
Sometimes a tip or chuckle
sometimes a not so funny riot
We are many , they are few
We make targets of our own kind
We have always dug our own graves
organized we’re the nightmare in their minds
We dug and poured this concrete
On streets of strangers we meet
In times of foolish servility
We rise to regain our humanity

More Company Coming
02:19
|
|||
THERE WILL BE MORE COMPANY DOWN HERE….
No Christmas in this river’s holler
No lights on our tents no future here
No princes born no stars to follow
Bedding in a freeze by poisoned water……
There’ll be more company down here ..when this ends Just In time for Christmas. in time for the new year’s freeze
Got no hearth, and I got no cheerWe don’t look to another year
we gotta share this heat….
tighten screws, got a nightmare to beat…
Yesterday a woman died in the ravine
We’re getting use to this , like bum canaries---
Bedding down for the global crash..
straps tight around my backpack…….
indifference of my countrymen
we’re all cowards here just like them

Frozen
02:45
|
|||
FROZEN.
Top of the circus tent blew off
faces all looked up to a darkness
The fool’s game is played
Burned to a crisp and blew away
And none of them ask for forgiveness
None of them feel any ……….shame
Not responsible for this mess
pulling us all into their hateful……… game
Frozen. Frozen, Frozen…….. in disbelief. .
All the experts betrayed you. (Everyone betrayed you) OR BETRAYED BY THE CHAIN OF COMMAND
On a train so unstoppable
Assured of the driver’s expertise
No one is accountable
Driving us to a F.I.R.E. apocalypse
None of them walk back their past
None of them feel any…….shame
No one responsible
Pulling us all into their ………….vicious game
I walk when humanity washes over you……………..
I fight..when…Faces turn down from that dark sky……………….
I sing……..Just let the good people carry you ………………
You’re too young to die OR too old to ….not… understand..…….why

THE CONTRACT/YOU’RE NOT ALONE
The ripped up social supply A hundred thousand suicides..
I did not sign…I did not sign. I did not sign this contract…
Dead social contractWe got no fight back I did not sign this contract
Tearing of the social fabric
Hanging hanging by threadsPlan complete. Plan complete.
.We fight if we dream, we live when we breathe…
We fight if we dream, we live when we breathe
Solidarity…..never… Never betrays ………you
You are not alone, you are not alone
